And no, I wasn't referring to the actor. He still lives and breathes to my knowledge.
I had named my little schnauzer puppy Sterling Knight. We got him on Monday, and he was a great pup, everybody loved him. He threw up on Wednesday, and was lying down all morning, and he wouldn't eat and couldn't keep anything down. I looked up his symptoms online and I saw that Parvo matched everything. I prayed he didn't have it.
We took him to the vet and they checked him out, and tested him for parvo. He had it.
We called the breeders that we got him from, and they took him back and took care of him, but at 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, Sterling Knight, my wonderful, loving, sweet, adorable puppy, passed away, and I didn't even get to say goodbye. The breeders had tried everything they could, but parvo is a deadly disease that is all over Texas, and there is a new string, strain, (whatever its called) of parvo that the vaccines can't guard against, and even older dogs can get it.
My very long awaited dog is gone, and it will be a while before I get another one, but little Sterling, even though we had him for a very short time, will always be in my heart. I know to some of you, it may seem weird to be so sad about a dog dying, but I guess that's how I am, seeing that I sobbed when Sophi squashed a baby lizard. Only this was different because it was my dog. I had waited four very long years, and I've never had a dog die before.
So yes, I'm sad, but I'm glad he died, so that he wouldn't have to suffer anymore than he had to.

So sorry, Mya. :( I've lost lots of pets, but never that way.

Oh Mya, I'm so sorry for your loss:-( I know it's tough honey. I was 12 when I lost my very first pet. It was hard for me because I didn't realize just how much I loved her or how quickly you can become attached. We didn't have her very long, either. I'm glad he is not suffering, too. I love his name. God will see you through this Dear, I just know it:-))))
