Sophie Turns 2

Okay, she turned 2 last month but I have been busy. One of the fun things that kept me busy was us getting food poisoning. You can imagine how delightful that was.

I thought I would post some pics of Sophie's b-day present from us and my parents. Even Savannah plays with it so it should get many years of play.

She got this play house: Adventure Playsets Winchester Playhouse It was on sale at Sam's Club but isn't anymore. It is called a Backyard Discovery Cedar Chateau Playhouse at Sam's. You can click on any pic to make it bigger.

I guess this is also kind of a review for the play house. It was a PAIN to put together. It took 4 people all day to put this up. Now, It wouldn't have been so bad if all the holes had lined up and if some of the parts weren't labeled wrong. I am SO glad we took the time to check for all the parts and organize them or we wouldn't have caught some mistakes until it was too late and frustrating.  I'm glad my dad and David knew what they were doing and could fix some hole alignment issues on the fly. The red paint felt a little sticky and the white paint could have been cleaner. It seemed like just a base paint and dirties easily. We also had a few parts splinter a little.

BUT, it really is a sturdy, pretty house overall. The price could not be beat. Anything remotely like this is usually at least twice the price. So, it was worth the hassle. It is also bigger than most. I can stand up in it and I'm 5'3". A few kids easily fit inside.

Sophie really enjoys it. Her favorite thing to do is talk on the phone that came with it and open and close the shutter windows.

Here is how it looks now that we put the picket fence around it. Doesn't it just look so much more complete? You can see a video  of it and how Savannah plays with her here (it was kind of meant as a video review for people looking for reviews, I could only find 2 reviews when I looked and no video ones):

Here is the cake Mariah made for Sophie's b-day. It was a strawberry cake and cream cheese frosting all made from scratch. It was AWESOME! She is a great baker. :)

  1. I love this doll house!!!!!! I want to buy it for Jillian as an excuse for me to play in it:))))) Lucky Sofie!!!!! Tiff do you think I'll fit in it!? I'm 5'5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Remember this Tiff I live vicariously through my girls because the whole thing about not having a childhood and all. But its not as bad as Michael Jackson or anything.

Disclaimer: I'm referring to his neverland ranch, about the amusement park and toys. Roc:))))
